Air Jordan 5 OG Colorways

This article belongs to a series of articles about the OG colorways of the legendary streetwear sneaker Air Jordan.

Concluding the first part of our Air Jordan OG Colorways Series is the Air Jordan 5. Inspired by World War 2 military fighter jets, the Air Jordan 5 featured a reflective tongue, mesh netting, lace locks, and the shark teeth design on the forefoot PU midsole.

Four colorways released throughout 1990, with a retro release ten years later.

1. Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red”

White, Red, and Black is a typical color combination for Jordans. But the translucent sole made it even more iconic on the 5s.

2. Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic”

With a stealthy nubuck upper in black, the reflective tongue and the Metallic Silver shark teeth stood out very well.

3. Air Jordan 5 “Grape”

Another colorway that was a far cry from the usual color schemes, the Air Jordan 5 “Grape” was never worn by Michael Jordan in an NBA game. It did get a lot of love years later because of its unique and popping pigments.

Will Smith wore a pair of the Grape Vs in an episode of the hit sitcom “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.

4. Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red/Black”

Same, same but different. This shoe is basically a reverse rendition of the first colorway to release. This shoe also concluded the OG colorways of the 5.
